How to integrate Stockpress with Adobe Photoshop

Learn how to add the Stockpress plugin to your Photoshop app and sync files to and from your Stockpress workspace.

With the Stockpress plugin for Photoshop, you can now create, open, edit, place files and smart objects–all from your Photoshop app–and save or update your work right into your Stockpress workspace.

Installing the Stockpress plugin

To install the Adobe plugin, click the More menu in your workspace sidebar and select Integrations. Click the Install plugin button to open the Adobe Exchange plugin page.

Follow the prompts to install the plugin through your Creative Cloud account.

Once installed, you can open Photoshop and connect to your Stockpress account.

If you have multiple Stockpress workspaces, you will only be able to access one workspace at a time.

Click Connect and enter your email address to find your workspace(s).

Once logged in, your workspace files and Collections will load in the Stockpress plugin.

Tip: You can access the Stockpress plugin anytime from the Plugins menu.

From the Stockpress plugin, you can:

  • Browse your workspace files under the All files tab

  • Browse your workspace Collections under the All Collections tab

  • Search for the files by keywords and tags

  • Navigation through your Collection Preview

  • Open files from your Stockpress workspace into Photoshop

  • Save files as new PSDs in your Stockpress workspace

  • Save new versions of files from Photoshop to your Stockpress workspace

  • Export jpg, png, and tiff files from Photoshop to your Stockpress workspace

  • Add files as Layers or Smart Objects from your Stockpress workspace to your Photoshop document

Using the Stockpress plugin for Photoshop

Opening files from the Stockpress plugin

You can open Photoshop or image files from the Stockpress plugin as new Photoshop documents.

To open a file, hover over the file and click the open as a new document icon. If the file type is supported, the file will open as a new Photoshop document. An Opened icon will appear next to every file in the Stockpress plugin that is currently opened in Photoshop. You can jump from document to document by clicking it.

Saving new file versions from Photoshop to Stockpress

If you are editing a file in Photoshop that you opened from the Stockpress plugin, you can save a new version to your workspace right from the plugin.

With the file open, click the save button in the top right of the Mini, which will default to save version. Clicking this will automatically upload the new version of your file into your Stockpress workspace. The number of versions will be visible next to the file in the Mini.

Saving new files from Photoshop to Stockpress

While working on a document in Photoshop, you can save a new PSD into your Stockpress workspace.

If the document is new, the save button will default to Save as new PSD.

The Stockpress upload modal will appear in the plugin. There, you can add a custom file name or description and create or select a Collection in your Stockpress workspace for the file to be uploaded to. If you have file statuses and/or expiration dates enabled in your workspace, you can also fill in these fields, but they are optional.

Once saved, the file will appear in your mini as Opened and will also be saved in your workspace.

Placing layers and Smart Objects

While working on a document in Photoshop, you can place any image file from your Stockpress Mini as a new layer or a new Smart Object.

To place an image file as a layer, hover over the file you want and click add as layer.

Exporting jpg, png, or tiff files into Stockpress

While working on a document in Photoshop, you can export the document as a jpg, png, or tiff file into your Stockpress workspace.

With your document open, click the down arrow by your save button and select jpg, png, or tiff.

The Stockpress upload modal will open, where you can add a custom name and description and create or select a Collection in your Stockpress workspace for the image file to be exported to.
