Stockpress automatically generates a transcript for every video and audio file you upload. You can view the full transcript, edit it, and - most importantly - search your workspace for any phrase spoken inside the file.
Transcription is available on Premium Plans and can be enabled in your Stockpress workspace settings.
To turn on transcription for video and/or audio files, head to your settings area, expand the Files & Collections toggle, and click the Search menu item.

With automatic transcription, you can search for a phrase that someone says: "Q3 launch plan," "the new packaging," whatever you're looking for, and Stockpress will find the file you need.
How transcription works
When you upload a video or audio file, Stockpress generates a written transcript of the spoken content in the background. The transcript is stored alongside the file and is available in two places: in the single-file view (so you can view and edit it) and in your workspace search (so the words become findable).
Supported file types
Transcription works on the following file types:
Video
MP4 (.mp4)
MOV (.mov)
WebM (.webm)
AVI (.avi)
MKV (.mkv)
Audio
MP3 (.mp3)
WAV (.wav)
M4A (.m4a)
AAC (.aac)
FLAC (.flac)
Viewing a transcript
To see the transcript for a video or audio file, open the file in the single-file view and click the Transcription menu item in the action bar.
If the file was uploaded recently and the transcript is still being generated, you'll see a "Transcribing..." message in the button. Refresh after a few minutes, and the transcript will appear.
Editing a transcript
Auto-generated transcripts are usually accurate, but they're not perfect. Names, brand-specific terms, and unusual jargon may need to be edited.
To edit a transcript:
Open the file in the single-file view.
Click into the Transcription tab.
Click into the transcribed text and make your edits inline. You can change words, fix punctuation, or rewrite full lines.
Click Update when you're finished.
Your edits are reflected immediately in search, so if the auto-generated transcript misspelled your co-worker's name or your product, fix it once, and that file will be searchable.
Searching for spoken phrases
Once a file has been transcribed, you can search your workspace for any phrase that appears in the transcript using the search bar at the top of your workspace.
By default, we'll search in ALL fields in your workspace:
File names
File descriptions
Collection names
Collection descriptions
Tags (manual and AI-generated)

Video content (transcribed text in videos)
Audio content (transcribed text in audio files)
A result for a video or audio file will surface the file and indicate where in the
You can narrow down where you search in your workspace by unchecking a Search in checkbox. For example, to search in ONLY video content, you can uncheck all the other Search in fields.
