With AI tagging enabled, Stockpress will automatically add tags for the objects, scenes, activities, and concepts it detects, so you can find files using our visual search without manually adding tags.
AI tagging is available for both images and video, and in seven (7) languages. You're always in control of which one is running in your workspace.
Images — AI tagging is enabled by default. After you upload an image, AI tags are added automatically and appear on your files within minutes.
Video — AI tagging is optional and turned off by default. You can switch it on at any time in your workspace settings.
AI tagging is available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Norwegian, Polish, and German.*

Both options are completely optional, and you can turn either one on or off whenever you like.
Turning AI tagging on or off
Head to your workspace settings and open the AI tagging area. There you'll find separate controls for images and video.
Toggle Image AI tagging on or off — it's on by default. To start tagging video, toggle Video AI tagging on, since it's off by default. *Please note, if you have a lot of video files in your workspace before video AI tagging is turned on, processing your videos can take time.
Select your AI tagging language - the default is set to English.
How AI tags appear on your files
With AI tagging enabled, you'll see the tags on your files a few minutes after an upload completes.
AI tags appear alongside your custom Tag Categories in the file's sidebar. For images, tags might include things like outdoor, product, landscape, or sky. For video, Stockpress analyzes the footage and tags the content it detects in the same way.
Editing or removing AI tags
You have full control over every AI tag. From the single file view, click the X on any tag to remove it from that file. You cannot ADD tags to the AI tags area. To add custom tags, create a custom Tag Category or Custom Field.
Searching with AI tags
AI tags are fully searchable in your Stockpress workspace, and they're most powerful combined with your custom tags. You can filter by several tags across different categories at once — for example, AI: Outdoor + Product: Shoes + Status: Approved to find exactly the assets you need.
Save a multi-tag search as a Smart Collection for one-click access, or pin your search results to quickly repeat the searches.
Many teams use a hybrid approach: AI tags for what's in the file and custom Tag Categories for business context, such as campaign, client, or product line.
