File sizes allow you to create additional image sizes so that your users have more options than simply the original size when downloading.
Head to your workspace settings.
From the File and Collections menu, go to Downloading.
From there you can edit any current file sizes or add a new file size. Original size is the default size and cannot be edited.
Click the Add file size button to create a new size. In the modal you can:
Give your file size a name. This will be what can be seen as an option in the download modal, so fee free to make it descriptive!
Define the width and/or height. If you define only the width as 1700 px for the image size, images will be scaled to have 1700px as the maximum width. The same applies to the height only.
Set the image to crop to the width and height by checking the Crop images to the exact dimension checkbox.
If you define both height and width for an image download size such as 1000 x 1000 px, images will be scaled proportionally to fit inside the specified dimensions.
Images will NOT be cropped unless you select the "crop images to the exact dimensions" checkbox.
To edit a file size, click on the name of the file size, edit the appropriate fields as outlined above and click save.
To delete a file size, click on the three-dot icon to the far right of the file size name in the list view and select delete.
