You can import files directly into a Stockpress Collection in your workspace via FTP by enabling the FTP importer in your workspace settings.

On your workspace settings page, toggle on the FTP importer. If you'd like to be able to import metadata from files via FTP as well, please make sure that IPTC & EXIF mapping is also toggled on.

Import files via FTP to your workspace

Once enabled, you can access your FTP accounts and FTP queue by clicking the three-dot icon in your left-hand sidebar.

Access and create FTP accounts

To add a new FTP account, click the + Add FTP account button on the top of the FTP accounts page.

Add a new FTP account connection

From the New FTP account modal, fill in the following information:

  • Account login: The account login will be the username for your FTP account. The extension after the '@' sign will be dependent on your workspace URL. For example, if your workspace URL is company.stockpress.co, all FTP logins will be @company.stockpress.co.

  • Password: Enter a password for your FTP login

  • Description (optional): Enter an optional description so you know why this FTP account was created, at a glance.

  • Connect with a Collection: This is where you will select what Collection will receive your FTP transmitted files. Select a Collection that has already been created in your workspace, or create a new one in the Collection modal.

  • Assign a workspace user to the FTP account (optional): You can assign the files transmitted by the FTP, to a user in your workspace. If you leave this blank, the files will be assigned to you.

  • Enable EXIP mapping (optional): If you have IPTC & EXIP mapping enabled in your workspace settings, you can automatically import the metadata from your files, into your Stockpress workspace.

  • Enable auto-generated tagging (optional): You can enable AI tagging for all FTP imported files. AI tagging can be edited and/or removed from your files at any time.

Click save to create the new FTP account.

The new FTP credentials can be entered into an FTP client or an FTP-enabled camera for file transmission.

Browse the FTP queue

If you have multiple FTP connections transmitting files at one time, you can follow the progress by clicking on the FTP queue menu item in your three-dot sidebar. From there you can filter by status; all, failed, pending, in process, and completed.
