Adding custom thumbnails to files and Link Cards

By default, we generate thumbnail previews for all file types in your Stockpress workspace—but sometimes, you might not like the result!

Let's see how you can add a custom thumbnail to any non-image (jpg, png, heic, tif, etc) file type or any Link Card in your Stockpress workspace.

Change the thumbnail on a single file

Click the three-dot icon and select Change thumbnail from a single file or in the single file preview. In this case, I want to add a custom thumbnail to this mp4 video.

Upload or enter a custom thumbnail

From the modal, you can enter the UUID from a file already in your workspace or upload an image from your computer.

Note: a file UUID can be found in the three-dot menu on any file.

To upload a custom thumbnail, click the upload button and select the file you want to replace the thumbnail with.

Select a custom thumbnail

Click the confirm button to replace the thumbnail with your new file.

You can remove your custom thumbnail anytime by returning to the three-dot menu, selecting Change thumbnail, and clicking the Remove thumbnail button in the modal.

When you remove a custom thumbnail, it might take up to a minute to generate a new preview in your workspace.
