Default sort order for files and Collections

Learn how to set or change a default sort order for your workspace and/or your personal settings.

All Stockpress workspaces start with a default sort order that shows the most recent files added to your workspace—but there are many other ways to sort your files and Collections.

Workspace sort order

Available sort orders

Collections

  • Custom (re-ordered) - This is your default view and is the newest Collections created, taking into account any Collections that have been re-ordered.

  • Newest Collections - The latest Collections created first.

  • Oldest Collections - The oldest Collections created first.

  • Recently updated - Collections with the latest changes first.

  • A-Z - Alphabetical order, A-Z.

  • Z-A - Alphabetical order, Z-A.

Files

  • Custom (re-ordered) - This is your default view and is the newest files uploaded, taking into account any files that may have been re-ordered inside a Collection.

  • Newest (creation date) - The most recent files based on the date they were made or taken.

  • Newest (upload date) - The most recent files based on the date they were uploaded into Stockpress

  • Oldest (creation date) - The oldest files based on the date they were made or taken.

  • Oldest (upload date) - The oldest files based on the date they were uploaded into Stockpress.

  • Favorites - All favorited files listed first, by the order they were added to the workspace.

  • Size (smallest first) - Smallest file sizes first.

  • Size (largest first) - Largest file sizes first.

  • A-Z - Alphabetical order, A-Z.

  • Z-A - Alphabetical order, Z-A.

As a workspace admin or manager, you can set the default sort order in your workspace settings.

Set your default file and Collection sort order

Under the Files and Collections toggle, click on Visibility.

Select your order from the dropdown, then click Save. This will be the default order for ALL your workspace users going forward, and for any new files added to the workspace.

Any workspace user can also change their own workspace defaults. This will affect ONLY their workspace.

Sort from user profile

From your user profile on the Profile tab, scroll to the Default sort order section at the bottom. By default, the workspace settings will be selected, but you can change your personal settings here.

Any user can also change their default sort settings from within the workspace.

Save sort order within a workspace

After selecting a sort order from the All Files Pages, All Collections Page, or from within a Collection, a Save icon will appear next to the Sort dropdown. Click Save to update the Sort order workspace-wide. This will ONLY affect your workspace, not other users.
