In-workspace and out-of-workspace notifications

Notifications keep you up to date on collaboration with your team both inside and outside of your workspace. Whether it's access to a Collection or a comment on a file, you can configure how you are notified.

In-app notifications dropdown

Customize your desktop, and email notifications based on your browser. The latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Opera, Edge, and Firefox are supported.

Notification settings

To visit your notifications settings, click the bell icon in the top right of your workspace and click Settings. The notifications tab can also be accessed by editing your user profile.

Notifications tab in your profile view

The notification options you can control are:

  • Someone gives me access to a Collection

  • Files are added to a Collection I have access to

  • Someone views a link I shared for the first time

  • Someone favorites a file I uploaded

  • Someone comments on a file I have access to

  • A new version of a file has been added to a file I have access to

  • A new version of a file has been added to a file I have downloaded

By default, In-app notifications are enabled for all notification options, and email notifications are enabled for initial access to Collections and comments on files.

You can toggle on and off each notification based on your preferences.

Subscribe and unsubscribe from individual Collections

If you are the owner of a Collection, you are already subscribed to it. If you have been given access to a Collection by another user, you are also already subscribed to it and will receive notifications in the way you choose in your notifications settings.

Unsubscribe from notifications on Collections

You can unsubscribe from a Collection at any time by clicking the three-dot icon on a Collection thumbnail and selecting unsubscribe. You will no longer receive in-app notifications or emails when new files have been added.
